The preliminary study‘s purpose is to convey the initial project idea into a concept. In it, all existing information is put together and examined with respects to the task and goal at hand. It will also show which additional data are going to be necessary for the subsequent project phases.
Result of the preliminary study is a concept for the plan‘s technical execution, with respects to the defined goal.
- Feasibility studies

The finished concept will be further specified in the feasibility study, with the goal to test the project plan‘s practicability. For that purpose, the technical, economic and legal parameters need to be investigated and brought into concext with the concept.
Necessary changes are derived from this and evaluated during the study. Furthermore, data that is not available yet can be gathered, such as a detailled analysis of possible input substances.
